TEACHING KIDS ABOUT MONEY
Teaching your kids about the importance of money has to start at an early age. By age of 4, because it is the stage they can begin to learn to count. Here are ways to do that:
1) Give your child money to help
Give your kids money to spend at the toy store to buy gifts for other kids and explain to them how this is a way we can help others by showing kindness. Teaching your kids to think of other kids’ happiness is invaluable to their development.
2) Reward their good works
If you have your child do house chores, or they have good grades in school, you can reward their efforts with cash, it teaches them that hard work comes with a benefit. This teaches them to always give their best.
3) Use money in examples
Use dollar values in your examples. They can play make-believe as if they are running a grocery store (For example), I ask them “How much will these drinks cost me?” Their answer: “that will be 7 dollars.” This is building self-confidence.
